Media Library (CoSer 512)

The Oswego BOCES School Library System provides access for subscribing schools to a robust collection of 40,000+ curriculum related media resources, through CoSer 512. Resources include streaming video, CDs and DVDs, audio and VHS tapes, photo collections, jackdaws, and professional education materials.

Seasonal Timely Topics kits are also provided to all buildings with K-5 students.

In keeping with the ever-changing face of technology, our selection of streaming video titles continues to expand, and currently includes all titles available through Learn360 and Power Media Plus (a service provided to all New York State schools through a grant to New York's Public Broadcasting stations). 

In the coming year, subscribers will also be able to access streamed video from VITALny, which, in partnership with Teacher's Domain, will provide over 2000 PBS generated resources for teachers and students throughout New York state.

Subscribers may access materials through WebMAX, an online ordering system that provides “one stop shopping” for all media resources, including streamed video.  Please contact the School Library System Office for:

Timely Topics

Timely Topics kits are provided approximately 8 times per school year, to each building with K-5 students. Kits include 7 VHS programs and 2 DVDS that have been selected to assist with classroom instruction, and which are relevant to the season.
