Professional Development Workshops

Preparing educators to prepare students for 2020 and beyond!

The staff at Oswego County BOCES Department of Research And Data Informing Instruction, Curriculum, Assessment and Leadership hopes you find our professional development workshops to be beneficial as you make time to enrich your life as an educator. Our mission is to support the process of school improvement by utilizing data to create learning opportunities for educators that improve instructional practices for all students.

At a time when raising student achievement has become the focus of national, state, and local education policies, we cannot forget the critical importance of professional development. One of the most promising approaches to professional growth is job-embedded learning, learning that occurs as teachers and administrators engage in their daily work.

The My Learning Plan Process

Oswego County BOCES would like to announce that they are utilizing My Learning Plan as the way to sign up for classes, workshops and training's offered by the organization as a whole. If you are looking for workshops offered by the ISS department, in particular workshops offered by the Research and Data Informing Instruction, Curriculum, Assessment and Leadership department then look no further!

You can find the entire Oswego County BOCES training & workshop catalog by clicking the link in this line. This catalog will contain workshops available from the Oswego County BOCES Instructional Support Services department and may be quite extensive. When viewing this catalog you will have the option to narrow your search to the different sub-sections of ISS (like RADIICAL, Model Schools or Instructional Technology) and in that way see the classes/workshops/events that you are most interested in.

To register for a workshop please complete the following steps:

  • Find the workshop you want to participate in our Workshop Booklet (click link provided above)

  • Create an account in My Learning Plan

  • Print off the registration form from My Learning Plan

  • Obtain necessary signatures from your district

  • Fax us the registration form at 963-3885

  • For personal payments, please mail payments to BOCES Treasurer with a copy of your registration form

Important notes for My Learning Plan users

Please note that you will be required to create an account in the My Learning Plan (Web Registration) system in order to sign up for these classes and/or workshops if you do not already have one. This process is very fast and can be done when you sign up for your first class. This registration system is not part of the Oswego County BOCES computer network and therefore if you do not create an account you will not be able to use this system. For those districts who use My Learning Plan, this Web Registration system is the only way to sign up for classes as we no longer accept email, telephone or fax requests.
