WHAT IS A DLEA?
A Designated Local Education Agency (DLEA) is the local regional center responsible for administering instructional programs for all apprenticeships or post apprenticeships within a county. The Commissioner of the State Education Department appoints one DLEA for each county in New York State, which in most cases, is a BOCES or vocational related center. The Superintendent of Oswego County BOCES (or administrator in charge) appoints a specific person who assumes responsibility for overseeing all related apprenticeship instruction. The appointed individual at Oswego County BOCES is Donna Donabella, Director of Workforce Development.
