English Classes for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

Free classes in English for speakers of other languages are provided by Oswego County BOCES.  Classes are currently located in the BOCES Literacy classroom located at Oswego High School.

Distance Learning also is open to adults 21 years or older who are unable to attend regularly scheduled classes.  The program is conducted via mail.  There is a minimum reading level for entry into Distance Learning Program

REGISTRATION IS ONGOING AND BEGINS JANUARY 16, 2007...

Site:  Oswego High School

Days: Tuesday and Thursday

Time:  6:00 PM- 9:00 PM

Agencies and Families Helping ESOL Learners:

  • Enrollment takes place on site in the BOCES Literacy classroom located at Oswego High School.
  • Classes are open to adults (age 18 or over)
  • Students are requested to fill in the information on the brochure, tear it off and bring it with them when they enroll.  Make sure an English speaking contact is listed.
  • Testing follows registration.
  • Documentation is not required.
  • Agencies and families can also call to help enroll the applicant at 963-4256.  Be sure to ask for the ESOL Literacy class.
