Migrant Education Programs in New York State

  • National program to help the children of migrant farmworkers
  • Eligibility: Migrant student eligibility is determined by trained recruiters using national eligibility guidelines. To qualify for migrant education services a student must (see eligibility guidelines).
  • New York State provides services to migrant students and their families through a network of 11 regional Migrant Education Outreach Programs (MEOPs). The NY network consists of the following (MEOPS):

  • Additional support is provided to New York migrant students and migrant programs through the BOCES Geneseo Migrant Center, The Cornell Migrant Program, ESCORT (Eastern Stream Center of Resources and Training) and Migrant youth Programs.
  • Information on assistance with attending college can be found at the Cause Assistance Migrant Program through SUNY-Oneonta.
