People working in this field apply technical and scientific knowledge to the study of the earth and its elements and frontiers. They care for and protect environments, harvest natural resources, such as plants, and raise animals.

Some examples of careers are: agriculture, animal science, biology, environmental science, horticulture, landscaping, physical sciences, geology, and veterinary science.

Students in the Natural and Agricultural Sciences and other programs at Oswego County BOCES assisted in the renovation of the gardens surrounding the entryway of the Burton Ramer Technical Career Center. Native plants were the focus of the project which was completed just prior to the Northeast Symposium on Native Plant Education, Conservation and Gardening co-hosted by SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and Oswego County BOCES and held at the BOCES campus.
