New Vision Education

This course is designed to give qualified high school seniors who are considering a career in education an exciting opportunity to explore the professional field prior to attending college. Students will work side by side with teachers and professionals to acquire knowledge through a variety of experiences in classrooms and community programs including areas such as special education, reading, counseling and audiology.

Honors-level Social Studies 12 and English 12 are integrated into the curriculum, and students will earn two Occupational Education elective credits. Students also have the opportunity to earn up to six college credits in English through Cayuga Community College. Students are required to adhere to strict standards regarding confidentiality, professional behavior and to follow a dress code.

The New Vision Education program will provide students the opportunity to enhance their college applications by showing related work experience and college-level research and writing skills. The students develop a portfolio of their experiences, which documents that they have successfully completed the program.
