Program Description: Students considering careers as early childhood educators, teacher assistants, or day-care providers may enroll in this course to help prepare them for work in a variety of child-care settings. Theory, observation, and practical experiences are gained in the classroom and in pre-school, elementary, and special education settings. Students will write lesson plans, learn how to keep accurate records, and interact with children and adults throughout the year. The employment outlook is favorable for those entering child care-related professions. Those students interested in pursuing a career working with young children will find themselves well prepared for college coursework or employment.
