General Information
Burton Ramer Technical Career Center (BRTCC) teachers come from the world of work. They have years of experience in their career areas which they are ready to share with their students.

Burton Ramer Technical Career Center can provide high school students with:

  • direct connections between education and work;
  • access to industry-related credentials and licenses;
  • broader career pathways and program offerings;
  • opportunities to learn in environments that promote critical thinking, problem solving, and other essential work skills;
  • practical work experience as part of classroom studies;
  • opportunities for internships, job shadowing, and clinical experiences;
  • academic credit and college credit; and
  • scholarship opportunities for continuing education after high school.
Office of Career Services
A wide range of services is available to BRTCC high school students through our Career Services office. A counselor is available to assist with career selection, program changes, personal issues, and to give high school students information on career and educational opportunities that will help them in post-secondary planning. Once students have graduated high school, they are not forgotten. We survey graduating seniors to determine how successful they have been after completing their BRTCC programs. A 2005-06 survey indicated that 65% of CTE graduates planned to pursue future education at the collegiate level. In June 2008, CTE seniors were asked what they planned to do after high school, and of those that responded, 79% said they planned to go to college.

Student Resources
BRTCC offers all students the opportunity to participate in various clubs. These student clubs offer leadership training, community service projects, and social activities.
