Program Description: Students interested in teaching, or a related career, will be exposed to developmental learning theory, lesson plan writing and evaluation, and teaching methods. The course will allow students to gain experience in classrooms and related settings throughout the county. Those aspiring to become teachers must earn at least a Bachelor's Degree from an approved teacher education program prior to obtaining certification and employment. Students will be required to submit a character reference prior to the first class. Social Studies 12 and English 12 are integrated into the curriculum, and students will earn two Teacher Education elective credits. Students will have the opportunity to earn nine college credits in English and Introduction to Psychology through Onondaga Community College and Cayuga Community College.
