Automotive Technologies

The automotive industry continues to demand highly trained technicians. At B. Ramer Tech, students can access solid training in fully equipped shops that prepare them for employment or further education. Students have several program options in order to learn troubleshooting, diagnostic and repair skills. Technicians are expected to read, interpret, and comprehend service manuals and to obtain additional training in the latest technology and repair techniques. Excellent wages and employment opportunities are predicted for those who complete formal training programs and earn national certification.

The National Automotive Technology Education Foundation (NATEF) has approved the Automotive Technology program at B. Ramer Tech, and students will have the opportunity to learn from skilled instructors who are ASE certified technicians. Programmatic options include a two-year 900-hour NATEF standards-based program that requires the completion of both the Automotive Services Technology and Automotive Systems Technology curricula. Students also have the option to enroll in Automotive Services Technology, Automotive Systems Technology, or Automotive Engine Repair and Machining for one year. Students will need to see their counselors regarding how to schedule a program that best meets personal career goals.
