A computer network specialist helps design and run the computer systems that link people together locally, nationally and internationally at companies and other organizations. Network adjustments, maintenance, security and recovery are tasks that individuals in this career area may be expected to perform. The morning class is a Cisco networking course and prepares the student to pass selected CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) exam modules. The afternoon course prepares the student to pass the CompTia A+ certification exam, and addresses computer repair and maintenance, hardware/software upgrades, operating system configurations and some networking. Employment opportunities are expected to be good for students who continue to develop skills and earn certifications after their initial coursework. |
