Motorsports Fabrication

This is a one-year program designed to give students the training to design and construct a custom vehicle such as a racecar, monster truck, or chopper. The skills and knowledge gained in this program can be used in the field of motorsports, as well as many other related industries. As the final project, the student will utilize skills taught in the program to design and build a simulated vehicle. The vehicle will be approximately one-eighth scale without a motor. Using engineering drawing techniques and CAD-CAM software, the student will design the vehicle starting with raw materials such as steel, aluminum, and brass. Machine tools and fabrication type equipment will be used to build the simulated vehicle. The student will participate in classroom, machine shop, and related lab activities, and may participate in field trips and related internship programs.
