People working in this field provide health care and support services to address the physical, mental and emotional needs of their clients. They apply scientific, technical, social and interpersonal skills to diagnose and treat illnesses, document care, provide a therapeutic environment and maintain the health of their clients.

Some examples of careers are: Social work, medicine, pharmacy, dental, psychology, therapists, sales, and veterinary medicine.

Students participating in the Health Sciences programs at Oswego County BOCES assist in coordinating several blood drives in conjunction with the Oswego County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Employees and students at Oswego County BOCES are consistent donors, with most blood drives at the campus meeting or exceeding Red Cross expectations for donations.
