Students thinking about careers as early childhood educators, teaching assistants, or daycare providers may enroll in this course to help prepare them for work in a variety of child-care settings. Theory, observation and practical experience are gained in the classroom and in pre-school, elementary, and special education settings. Students will write lesson plans, learn how to keep accurate records, and interact with children and adults throughout the year. The employment outlook is favorable for those entering the professions previously mentioned. Those students interested in pursuing a career as teacher assistants will find themselves well prepared for college coursework. |
