Services for Teachers and Students
Services for Teachers and Students from the NYS Archives: Historical records can be an integral part of a learning process in which students discuss, analyze, think critically, and develop skills that help them understand cause and effect relationships, change, chronology, and more. The New York State Archives encourages the educational use of historical records in a variety of ways.


Information for Teachers from the NYS Library
The New York State Library is part of the Office of Cultural Education, within the New York State Education Department. Since its establishment in 1818 the State Library has been a repository for the official publications of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches, commissions, public authorities, and other agencies of the State government.


NYS Museum Education Department
As a service to the public, the New York State Museum offers a variety of educational programming for schools and educational groups. Such groups may register for Instructor-guided programs or self-guided visits.
