The Erie Canal Concert

Bring Erie Canal times to life right in your school building with this participatory concert. Dave has dug up a treasure trove of songs and stories from the workers, captains, passengers and crews of "Clinton’s Ditch".

The Native Americans of New York State

With his guitar and some traditional Iroquois gourd rattles, Dave leads students on a fun-filled musical journey into our history. Students become active participants in their own learning as they sing along (in English and Iroquois!), answer questions and act out songs.

A performance has been scheduled, but the actor fails to show. Or does he? What will happen when a lone spectator finds himself unwittingly on stage? Doug is transformed into several characters ranging from a gorilla to a ballerina as he explores the props and masks on stage.

The story centers around Jack Sprat, who eats no fat, and his wife, Gloria, who eats nothing but fat. Jack has discovered that a high-fat diet is bad for Gloria's health. He tries to help her change her eating habits by introducing her to MC "Old Mutha" Hubbard, a professional cupboard consultant. MC is aghast at what he finds in Gloria's cupboard.


He takes her on a nutritional safari through the supermarket, educating Gloria as to what constitutes a healthy diet. By the end of the story, Gloria is ready to give good nutrition a try, and Jack has learned a few things as well.

Great original songs (pop, bluegrass, rock & roll, R&B, Blues styles) that kids ask for again and again. With upbeat dialogue and nonstop humor, Brian and Susan call upon audience volunteers (Introducing: The Maraca Orchestra!) to help lead sing-alongs, do hand movements, ASL (American Sign Language) while engaging in dialogue with the audience about their reading adventures. Sincere, spontatneous, fun and inclusive!
