G.I.S. is Geographic Information Systems

This GIS planning service allows for analysis of any data that can be linked to a specific address or point on a map. This makes it especially useful for studies involving grade realignments, school closings, building of new schools, BOCES Space Plans and merger of districts. It can also be used to analyze test scores, demographic variables, and other information that can be linked to a student, building, or district record.

This service will be helpful if

  • You are thinking about redistricting
  • You are contemplating consolidation due to declining enrollments
  • Your district is expanding

Download this brochure for more information.

Examples:

  • This is an example of a demographics map that was created with GIS software. Maps like this that display your data on a geographic reference can be created for your district to view on your website.
  • This page contains several examples that were created for school districts that we support.
