Database Trials

The Oswego BOCES School Library System works with a number of companies to periodically offers trials for online resources. This allows Library Media Specialists, Teachers, and Students to explore new resources, and to effectively see how these resources might support instruction and learning in their own schools. Trial sites are listed for each resource, below. Please contact your school Library Media Specialist for trial usernames and passwords. You may also request login information from the School Library System.

Current Trials include:

Expert Space

Provides Science and Social Studies content to deepen understanding, plus tools to help students synthesize and organize information. Includes reading scaffolds, Spanish translations, and a read-aloud capability. Grade level: 4-12

ProQuest/SIRS/Culturegrams

Trial includes access to 22 K-12 resources, including eLibrary, SIRS Discoverer and Culturegrams for beginning researchers, up to PsycINFO, ProQuest Learning Literature and ProQuest AP Science for the more advanced students.

Rosen's Teen Health & Wellness

Provides students with curricular support and self-help on topics ranging from diseases, to drugs and alcohol, to diversity and family life. A 2008 School Library Journal Top 10 Digital Resource.
