The Oswego BOCES School Library System, established by Commissioner's Regulations in 1985, is a state funded program which supports the instructional program and informational needs of the students and professional staff in public and nonpublic schools of Oswego County.

The vision of the School Library System (SLS) is to empower all School Library Media Specialist (SLMS) to be recognized as instructional and information leaders in their schools. As educational leaders, School Library Media Specialists provide unique services that support the learning process of students, teachers, and staff.

The Oswego County BOCES School Library System can provide a wide variety of services for members of the school community such as:

• Interlibrary Loan, allowing teachers and students to access resources from libraries in and beyond New York State
• Professional Development in all areas of library information and technology
• Assistance in evaluating a school's Library Media Program
• Professional resources available for loan
