We provide a comprehensive continuum of services for students with disabilities, ages birth through twenty-one. This continuum includes program classes, related services, itinerant services, and extended school year programming (summer school). Students receiving BOCES programs or services are referred by the home school district Committee on Special Education or Committee on Preschool Special Education.

Department staff serve approximately one thousand students annually. Approximately four hundred students a year attend our preschool or school age program classes. Program classes are strategically located throughout the county in order to accommodate student demographic and program goals. Our goal for students attending program classes is to provide the academic, social, emotional, and/or behavioral supports necessary to return to successful programming in their home school district.

More than half of the students we serve annually receive related services or itinerant services in their home school district. The Oswego County BOCES employs a full complement of itinerant staff including: Audiologists, Counselors, Speech Therapists, Teachers of the Deaf, and Teachers of the Visually Impaired.

Our extended school year program offers students the opportunity to attend program classes or receive related services or itinerant services over the summer. Over three hundred students each summer are served. Program classes operate for thirty full school days and are typically located in Fulton and Mexico.
