Vocational Training
Students from the 12:1:4 Junior and Senior High classrooms are bused to Oswego Industries in Fulton New York to participate in a BOCES operated work program as part of their school day. Students from the Junior and Senior High classrooms attend the VTP program 2 - 4 days per week.
The Vocational Training program provides students with the opportunity to develop basic skills needed for participation in future work experiences or sheltered workshops. Students participating in VTP work on a variety of assembly, packaging, sorting tasks as well as appropriate social skills in a work setting.
Student attending VTP receive a small amount of money for their work. They also work on a variety of craft projects, which they sell at an in-school craft sale several times per year. The Vocational Training Program guides the students in the transition from school to work.
