The Oswego County BOCES Deaf/Hard of Hearing Educational Program was established in 1978. The program began as one classroom of three and four year old children. We now provide educational services throughout Oswego County for approximately 50 students ranging in age from infancy to 21 through teachers of the deaf, interpreters, itinerant teachers, speech/language therapists, counselors, audiologists, evaluators, consultants, tutors, notetakers, and mainstreaming opportunities.

The educational program reflects the students Individualized Educational Plan (IEP). Deaf/hard of hearing students educational settings range from regular education classrooms monitored by deaf/hard of hearing education staff to self contained classrooms with certified teachers of the deaf with varying degrees of mainstreaming in between. We also offer exposure to Deaf culture activities and opportunities to socialize with deaf and hard of hearing peers and adults
