Students attend Multi-Occ III and IV on a half-day basis for the entire school year and exit with a portfolio.

Academic Components

The academic components of these programs lead the students through a number of experiences such as:

  • Calculating pay based on time records
  • Completing sample employment applications
  • Interviewing
  • Maintaining personal time records
  • Performing a job search
  • Preparing a personal resume

Retail Store

The Retail Store provides an opportunity for students to actively practice the skills they learn. Much of their time is spent within actual production runs of products.

The retail store is where the products are sold and provides the student the opportunity to follow production from the product’s production to the actual sale and delivery to the customer. Some of the skills stressed in this program are:

  • Customer service
  • Computerized cash sales
  • Counting money and associated math skills
  • Inventory management of products/supplies

Manufacturing Plus
Our mission in Manufacturing is to educate students in the practices and procedures in the manufacturing world and the world of work. The byproduct of education is a product that can be purchased by the public.

Where Are We Located?
Manufacturing Plus is located on State Route 3 heading north from the village of Mexico.

Our Keepsake
Adirondack furniture made at Manufacturing Plus is know throughout the county.

Job Shadowing

It is the generosity of the local business community which makes the Job Shadowing experience a success for our students. Job Shadowing involves active participation of the student within a local business for the purpose of gathering information, as well as experiencing first hand the expectations of employers within different career areas.

It is through the dialogue between the “businessperson” and our student that the reality of the working world is able to come to light.
