Distance Learning Specialist -
The Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation has an immediate opening for a Distance Learning Specialist. The duty of the Distance Learning Specialist is to assume the responsibilities assigned in assisting in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluating programs and services to the component districts. Other duties include: providing leadership in the field in the areas of professional development, program and service development, data collection analysis, and program evaluation. Provide support in the integration of regional, state, and national trends in education. Be responsive to the needs of the component districts. Collect, analyze, share data relevant to your services and student achievement. Maintain a positive, efficient, effective, professional work environment. Collaborate with all stakeholders (districts, CiTi, other departments, colleagues, etc.) in order to provide high quality, comprehensive services and follow all CiTi policies and procedures.

Fiscal Management: Provide input into the program budget.

Instruction/Professional Development: Work with component districts and CiTi programs to determine instructional and curricular needs based on data. Facilitate the professional learning and growth of our educational constituency. Schedule, facilitate, and evaluate professional development delivered in a variety of formats. Integrate research based/best practices into professional development. Keep current in the field. Serve as a liaison between NYSED, CITi, the component districts and other relevant professional organizations. Participate in relevant and appropriate regional, state, and national organizations.

Title Specific: Envision, create, promote, and establish new Distance Learning programs and services that relate to the needs of the districts. Develop and update training materials to help users to make more effective use of distance learning technology.

Other: Assume additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Distance Learning Coordinator.

Qualifications: New York State Teacher certification, Experience in technology training development and delivery. Demonstrate proficiency in good communication skills, effective instruction, and organizational and management skills.

    Public Information Assistant - Apply Online
    The Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation (Citi) is seeking two (2) Public Information Assistants in the CiTi Public Relations Department, whose mission is to be communication leaders for public education clients, advising school districts on creative, strategic, innovative and effective communication solutions and collaboratively implementing those plans to promote student learning and educational systems. One position will be located at an office in Phoenix, NY and the other in Ithaca, NY. Please specify in your cover letter if you are only interested in one or the other. The position involves writing news releases, photography, disseminating information to the media, creating public information materials and video as well as maintaining websites and social media platforms. Must be able to juggle competing priorities and deadlines, show initiative and common sense, bring energy and flexibility in support of a team environment. Interested candidates must have excellent writing skills, experience with Adobe software and a professional disposition. Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or closely related field, and at least two years prior experience or an associate's degree in the same fields of study with four years of experience.
